You might not find Nemo here, but there are still plenty of fish to see at the UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium on Skidaway Island. Dive into our app -- adventure awaits!
Skidaway is an intracoastal waterway located off the coast of Savannah, GA, home to saltwater marshes full of wildlife. Many people are unaware of the scale and beauty of coastal Georgia, especially Skidaway’s 378,000 acres of marshland to explore
For the last four months, we have been working with UGA’s Marine Extension on Skidaway Island to find a way to engage visitors and encourage more people to explore Skidaway. Our client wanted a way for people to appreciate the wonders of the island with ease and to get people out of the house and enjoying the natural wonders that the Georgia coast has to offer.
We live in a digital age where most people make travel plans by doing online research and processing new information through their smartphone. To engage Skidaway’s visitors, we created a lightweight, easy-to-use iOS app that, at its core, is practical, intellectually engaging, and visually complementary to the natural environment of Skidaway.
